1. Iron Range Off-Highway Vehicle State Recreation Area - Gilbert
Enjoy 1,200 acres of off-highway vehicle (OHV) recreation in a northwoods setting.

Children under 16 must complete OHM safety training course and obtain a safety certificate before operating on public land, and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

At this time, there are no fees required to enter the State Recreation Area, however vehicle registration is required.

2. Straight Arrows Trail
Located along the Wisconsin border, the trail connects to an additional five miles of riding in Wisconsin's Douglas County Forest.

6. Taconite State Trail - Big Aspen Connection
The Taconite Trail winds through forests of birch and aspen intertwined with pine, leading the visitor past many isolated lakes and streams.

Portions of the trail are open to ATV (Class 1 & 2) and off-highway motorcycle (OHM) users from May 1 through November 20, conditions permitting.

From the trail intersection with US Highway 53, ATV & OHM use is allowed eastward (toward Tower) for about 2 miles and westward (toward McCarthy Beach State Park) for about 15 miles.
