After a successful start to the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship Presented by FMF, the world’s top motocross riders head to Wortham, Texas on June 7-8 for the Monster Energy Freestone Motocross National Presented by Yamaha, Kicker Audio and Berkey’s Plumbing.
Once again, Kawasaki riders were the riders to beat with Monster Energy Kawasaki’s James Stewart and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto sweeping both motos in the AMA Motocross and AMA Motocross Lites classes.

Kicks Off at Kawasaki/Monster Energy Motocross National in Mt. Morris
MT. MORRIS, Pa. (June 4, 2008)
A $100,00 is up for grabs as the Monster Energy/Kawasaki Triple Crown of Motocross kicks off at High Point Raceway for the 32nd Annual Kawasaki/Monster Energy Motocross National Presented by Centra Bank on June 14-15.
A three-race competition conducted within the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship Presented by FMF, the Monster Energy/Kawasaki Triple Crown of Motocross includes the trio of High Point, RedBud, and Steel City. Riders in the AMA Motocross and AMA Motocross Lites classes will battle it out round-by-round for a chance to win the grand prize: A $25,000 bonus awarded in each class to any rider that sweeps the three-race series.

Kawasaki (June 3, 2008)
It was a perfect weekend for the Monster Energy Kawasaki racing team as James Stewart and Timmy Ferry claimed the top two spots at the 40th Anniversary of the Hangtown Classic in Sacramento, Calif.
Stewart earned his second straight AMA Toyota Motocross Championship overall win once again winning both motos. Ferry finished 2-2 on the day to take home the second overall spot. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto also stood on the top step of the podium twice during the event. Villopoto swept the motocross lites motos to claim his first overall win of the season. Austin Stroupe finished 3-4 in the motos for an overall finish of fourth, just ahead of his teammate Brett Metcalfe, who finished 4-5 to claim fifth overall. Branden Jesseman finished 6-12 and eighth overall, placing all four of the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki riders in the top 10.

Round two of the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship Presented by FMF provided outstanding action in front of over 25,000 motocross faithful at the 40th Anniversary of the Honda Hangtown Motocross Classic. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s James Stewart and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto garnered overall victories in their respective classes.
In the AMA Motocross Lites moto one, Villopoto grabbed the BTOSports.com holeshot and laid down some blistering laps to pull away from the field early on. Geico Powersports Honda’s Trey Canard, last weeks winner of the Ricky Carmichael Hard Charger Award, found himself in line for the award again after falling to the ground in turn two and again later on during the first lap.

Villopoto Grabs AMA Motocross Lites Win
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (June 1, 2008)
After a dominating opening round, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s James Stewart, of Haines City, Fla., made it two for two at the Honda Hangtown Motocross Classic Presented by Jackson Rancheria Hotel & Casino, round two of the 2008 Toyota Motocross Championship Presented by FMF. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto, of Poulsbo, Wash., picked up his first win of the season in AMA Motocross Lites.
After earning the BTOSports.com Holeshot Award in the first moto, Stewart quickly pulled away to the victory while a stellar battle ensued behind him. Privateer rider Steve Boniface, of Corona, Calif., put in an outstanding effort, staying within the top five for most of the moto while Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Tim Ferry, of Largo, Fla., and Red Bull Honda’s Davi Millsaps, of Tallahassee, Fla., battled it out for second with Ferry gaining the edge.

With the opening round of the 2008 AMA Toyota Motocross Championships Presented by FMF in the books, the sport’s top riders head to the crown jewel of the season on May 31-June 1 in Sacramento, Calif., for the 34th Annual Honda Hangtown Motocross Classic Presented by Jackson Rancheria Hotel and Casino.
The green machines of Monster Energy Kawasaki and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki couldn’t have started the season in a better way, grabbing the top spot with James Stewart in the Motocross Class, and boasting a 1-2 finish in AMA Motocross Lites with Austin Stroupe and Ryan Villopoto. Stewart is a past champion at Hangtown, grabbing the overall victory in 2006, and based on his dominating performance last weekend, he appears more than ready.

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing’s Mike Alessi started the AMA Motocross season strong by
capturing second place overall at this weekend’s season-opening round at Glen Helen Raceway in
San Bernardino, California. Rockstar Makita Suzuki teammate Michael Byrne also had a good
weekend, thanks to a sixth-place overall result, while teammate David Vuillemin struggled a bit,
finishing 17th overall.
In the Motocross Lites class, Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey had a fine weekend after taking
fourth place overall. Teammate Nico Izzi, meanwhile, had a good first moto, finishing eighth, but had
some issues in the second moto and wound up with 13th overall.

Stroupe Picks Up First Career AMA Motocross Lites Win

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s James Stewart, of Haines City, Fla., won today’s opening round AMA Toyota Motocross Championship Presented by FMF at the 13th Annual Giant RV Motocross National Presented by Yamaha at Glen Helen Raceway. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Austin Stroupe, of Lincolnton, N.C., picked up his first career win in AMA Motocross Lites.
Stewart was dominant on this day and went on to post a solid 1-1 moto finish to notch his fifth overall victory of his AMA Motocross career. Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Mike Alessi, of Victorville, Calif., finished 2-2 for second overall while Red Bull Honda’s Davi Millsaps, of Cairo, Ga., was third with a 3-3.

Reed for taking the 2008 AMA Monster Energy Supercross Championship Title and Ramsey for consistently placing in the Top 10 and finishing 7th overall in the Championship race.
It is with great regret however, that L&M Racing officially announces today that Chad Reed will not race as part of the L&M Race Program in 2009. While an offer was originally made to Reed to re-sign with L&M Racing, the terms of the Rider and that of the Team simply could not be reached. Team San Manuel looks forward to working with Reed through the remainder of his current contract period.

Dungey Wins 2nd Consecutive Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Shootout

Team San Manuel Yamaha’s Chad Reed, of Tampa, Fla., won Monster Energy® Supercross, an FIM World Championship before
39,227 fans at a sold-out Sam Boyd Stadium. Reed, who won the 2004 AMA Supercross class championship, also won the main event. Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., won the Dave Coombs Sr.
East/West Shootout in the AMA Supercross Lites class main event.
Red Bull Honda Racing’s Davi Millsaps opened the AMA Supercross class main event by winning the Progressive Holeshot Award, and Windham trailed in second. Reed started in seventh place. On lap three Windham passed Millsaps and secured the lead. Reed worked his way through the pack and passed Windham for the lead on lap 13 to claim the ninth win of the season. Torco Fuels Honda’s Kevin Windham, of Centerville, Miss., won his second consecutive Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship race in front of 48,328 fans at Qwest Field. Yamaha of Troy’s Jason Lawrence, of Carlsbad, Calif., won the Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites class championship. Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., won the main event and finished second overall in the Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites class.
Honda Red Bull Racing’s Andrew Short, of Smithville, Texas, won the $1,500 Progressive Holeshot Award to start the AMA Supercross class main event, but Windham quickly passed him and moved into the lead. Team San Manuel Yamaha’s Chad Reed, who came into tonight’s race 13 points ahead of Windham, crashed in turn one and started the race in last place.

Yamaha’s Chad Reed battled through the pain of his fractured shoulder to take a decent second position to main title rival Kevin Windham in front of almost 49,000 fans last weekend at the Edward Jones Dome in St Louis for the fifteenth round of seventeen in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross championship, also an FIM World Championship.
Reed seized the lead on the first lap of the main event, taking place just one week after his heavy practice crash in Detroit, but was powerless to prevent Windham from seizing control. The result was nevertheless the Australian’s eleventh podium of the season on the San Manuel YZ450F and means that his points lead was only cut to 13 with two races to go.

Speed TV (April 20, 2008)
Windham immediately began to pull away, and went on to win his third main event of the season. However, Reed hung on for second, minimizing his points loss to Windham for the second-straight week.
“I’m happy,” Windham said, “but at the same time, I think I’d rather finish eighth and gain 15 points than win and only gain three at this point.”
Windham now trails Reed by 13 points with two races left to run. Next weekend comes the Seattle Supercross, which seems to be a perpetual mud race, so anything can happen.

Canard Clinches Eastern Regional AMA Supercross Lites Championship
ST. LOUIS (April 19, 2008)
Torco Honda’s Kevin Windham picked up his third main event win of the season and tightened the championship race in the Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, before a crowd of 48,698 at the Edward Jones Dome. Torco Honda’s Trey Canard clinched his first-ever AMA Supercross Lites class championship with a win.
Windham, who entered tonight’s race trialing Reed by 16 points, cut the deficit to 13 points with two races remaining. Reed, who is riding with a cracked shoulder blade, turned in a valiant ride to earn second. Red Bull Honda’s Andrew Short, of Smithville, Texas, finished third.

St. Louis’ Edward Jones Dome to Host Round 15 This Saturday

The Monster Energy® Supercross, an FIM World Championship, story line took an interesting turn last Saturday night at Detroit’s Ford Field, and this Saturday night St. Louis’ Edward Jones Dome could play host to the most influential race of the season.
AMA Supercross class points leader Chad Reed, of Tampa, Fla., suffered a horrific crash in practice, forcing him to use an AMA Provisional, which allows for a rider within the top 10 in points to advance directly to the main, where he would eventually finish in 12th place. Coming into the race Reed, who has eight wins this season, had a 27-point lead over Torco Fuels Honda’s Kevin Windham. Heading into St. Louis Reed is now only 17 points ahead of Windham.

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing's Nico Izzi celebrated an impressive fourth-place finish in front of his home crowd at Saturday night's AMA Supercross Lites race at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
The St. Clair, Michigan, native started the night by nabbing a second-place finish in his heat race and then a fourth-place result in the 15-lap main. Izzi's performance puts the young rider in third-place overall in the championship points chase.

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 15, 2008)
After sustaining injuries during a nasty crash in practice, Team San Manuel's Chad Reed was treated at an area hospital, released and given an AMA provisional in order to race in the evening's Main event. Despite what we now know were significant injuries, the ever-tough Reed raced the Main and finished 12th. Teammate Nathan Ramsey followed closely behind Reed and finished 13th at the fourteenth stop of the 2008 Monster Energy Supercross series, at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. Despite one of the worst scenarios a professional SX racer could ever encounter, Reed's courageous ride Saturday evening allowed him to maintain the championship points lead with 296 points while Ramsey continues to rally a top ten standing holding the seventh overall spot, for several weeks now, with 155 points.

YAMAHA (April 14, 2008)
Yamaha’s Chad Reed defied chest and back pain to score 12th position in Detroit for the fourteenth round of the 2008 Monster Energy AMA Supercross championship last weekend. The Australian crashed heavily in practice and had to visit hospital prior to being released to take his slot in the gate for the main event at Ford Field.
Reed used his AMA provisional ‘joker’ (that enables riders in the top ten of the standings to miss one qualification and still be eligible to compete) after his accident that saw a diagnosis of a fractured scapula (shoulder blade), and likely some lung bruising among other small ailments. The 25 year old was coughing up blood at one point but was determined not to miss the race.

Villopoto Grabs The Win In AMA Supercross Lites

Red Bull Honda’s Davi Millsaps picked up his second win of the season at tonight’s Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, at Ford Field. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto, of Poulsbo, Wash., won the AMA Supercross Lites class main event win.
Honda’s Eric Sorby, of Lake Elsinore, Calif., won the $1,500 Progressive Holeshot Award to begin the 20-lap AMA Supercross class main event. Millsaps closed in on Sorby and took over the lead on the second lap, bringing Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Timmy Ferry and Torco Honda’s Kevin Windham with him to round out the top three.

Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, returns to Ford Field tomorrow night. The AMA Supercross class race will air on SPEED Sunday at 6:00 p.m. EST and the AMA Supercross Lites class will air the following Sunday, April 20 at 6:00 p.m.
For only the seventh time in supercross history there have been five different winners in one season, Chad Reed, James Stewart, Davi Millsaps, Kevin Windham and Josh Hill. While Reed has the AMA Supercross class points lead, this competitive field shows each weekend looking to remove him from the number-one position.

Chad Reed moved up to third place in the all-time AMA Supercross victories table after clinching the 34th win of his career and the eighth of the 2008 championship at the Texas Stadium in Dallas last Saturday. The Australian led from the second lap until the chequered flag for his second triumph in the space of a week. The 25 year old owned the thirteenth round of seventeen and now stands 27 points ahead of Kevin Windham.

Team Teka Suzuki WMX1 dominated proceedings in front of 26,000 spectators during round one of the FIM MX1 World Motocross Championship at Valkenswaard in the Netherlands.
Team riders Ken De Dycker and Steve Ramon finished first and second overall on their aluminium-framed, Electronically Fuel-Injected RM-Z450s to lead the individual rider and manufacturer title chases after the first of 15 rounds.

Kawasaki’s Travis Preston, of Hesperia, Calif., won the $1,500 Progressive Direct Holeshot Award but it was the Yamaha’s of Reed and Josh Hill, of Yoncalla, Ore., who took over the top two positions on lap two.

The AMA Supercross class race will air on SPEED Sunday, April 6 at 6:00 p.m. (EST), and the AMA Supercross Lites race will air on SPEED Saturday April 12 at 4:00 p.m.
Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing is in full swing again, following last week’s AMA Supercross race at Toronto, Ontario. Because the Toronto event was an independent race, AMA Supercross Lites contender Nico Izzi did not participate. Izzi took advantage of the downtime, however, to focus on saddle time in preparation for this weekend’s race at Texas Stadium

The money raised for the second annual event to benefit the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto nearly doubled last year’s numbers.

Team Bad Boy rider Ryan Smith # 831, nephew of legendary rider David Bailey, had an impressive debut in the SX Lites division in the AMA Supercross series on March 29th at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada. After finishing last in his heat, Smith came alive in the LCQ grabbing the holeshot and then winning the 4-lap qualifier for a spot in the main event. When the gates dropped in the SX Lites main, Smith had another incredible start, getting his second holeshot of the night. After the race, Ryan received the Progressive Holeshot Award on the podium, along with a check for $1000.00.

Skinner Scores his First AMA Supercross Lites Win

Team San Manuel Yamaha’s Chad Reed, of Tampa, Fla., won his seventh Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship race of the season before 36,888 fans at Rogers Centre, marking his second consecutive race win in Toronto. Honda’s Shaun Skinner, of Stuart, Fla., won the first AMA Supercross Lites class main event of his career.

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing’s Ryan Dungey scored his first podium in the SX class Saturday
night with a strong second-place finish at the HHH Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After
grabbing the holeshot, Dungey led for three laps before relinquishing the lead and settling down in
second place. Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s David Vuillemin also put in a strong performance on the
Suzuki RM-Z450, maintaining sixth place for nearly the first half of the race until falling back and
settling for an eighth-place finish.

Yamaha’s Josh Hill toasted a fine maiden AMA-SX triumph in front of almost 41,000 fans at the Metrodome in Minneapolis last Saturday for round eleven of seventeen in the 2008 championship. The 18 year old steered his YZ450F to the chequered flag ahead of Ryan Dungey and Kevin Windham. Series leader Chad Reed was a protagonist in the Main Event but a crash dropped him down the race order and he finished seventh for the second week in succession.

Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., won the $1,500 Progressive Holeshot Award to open the AMA Supercross class main event. Following Dungey through turn one was Torco Fuels Honda’s Kevin Windham, of Centerville, Miss., and the championship points leader Chad Reed, of Tampa, Fla., was fifth.

The heavens opened and created a swamp at the Daytona Speedway for the tenth round of the 2008 AMA Supercross series, a FIM World Championship. Yamaha San Manuel’s Chad Reed was three corners from his seventh victory of the season before being forced to retire.
To make matters worse for the Australian he was later penalised for cutting the sodden track and dropped to seventh place for his lowest standing of the season so far. Despite the drama and eventual outcome, the 25 year old still leads the championship by 23 points with seven rounds remaining.
